underwater sky, jerrabomberra

This mural commission for Jega Headquarters is painted in the light well of an underground meeting room, contributing to the transformation of a former garage into an atmospheric and unique executive meeting room.

The mural was created through drawing and overlaying shapes, colours and textures collected during my walks around Jerrabomberra Wetlands and the Kingston Foreshore. To bring a feeling of the sky and local environment into the underground office space, I played with the ambiguity of reflections; looking into water, reflections from above, the murky layers of submerged aquatic life.

I collaborated with Sally Hieatt Interiors to ensure a sophisticated and harmonious relationship between the mural and the interior. It was a pleasure to work with likeminded creative partners whose focus on community, creativity and sustainability are values that Lymesmith shares.
