STARWAY MURAL

A LYMESMITH COLLABORATION WITH SIMPSON WILSON  

Lymesmith worked with Simpson Wilson Architects on this elegant and dramatic extension to a 1940’s bungalow in Greenwich, Sydney. 

In addition to selecting colours and finishes for the interior and exterior of both old and new structures, Lymesmith was commissioned to design an artwork for the steep stairwell connecting the old and new parts of the house. Dubbed the ‘Starway’, the mural accentuates the geometry and random placement of the tiny windows, giving a lightness and playfulness to a potentially ungainly structure. The mural celebrates the dramatic transition from old to new.
