UTS SCIENCE BUILDING
FACADE COLOUR PLAY
Durbach Block Jaggers invited Lymesmith to refine and develop their concept for the facade colour for the new Science Faculty at the University of Technology, Sydney. The architects provided two Klimt landscape paintings as inspiration and requested a light and 'sugary' play of bright colour for 714 window reveals.
Lymesmith's design incorporating 13 window colours (pictured below) was unfortunately not realised as designed, due to late changes by the builder which reduced the total number of colours to 7. The reduced concept is nevertheless a popular aspect of the building facade.
